Doran is the son of Kell Tainer & Tyria Sarkin-Tainer of Wraith Squadron. He gets his Force-sensitivity from his mother. Tyria has had very unusual instruction in the ways of the Jedi, not attending the academy, but roaming the galaxy & learning from life. Doran travels with her, getting a very hands-on schooling in the Force, somewhat similar to the Old Republic's Master-Padawan relationship.
