Descended from a long, illustrious line of Jedi, she was directly related to the legendary Vima Sunrider, the daughter of Nomi Sunrider. Vima-Da-Boda served the Force for 100 years, and raised one daughter, Neema, who turned to the Dark Side. The dark- side power didn't help Neema, who was abused and finally killed by her husband, a barbaric Ottethan warlord. In her rage at finding that her daughter had been fed to rancors, Vima ignited her lightsaber and cleaved the warlord in two. She then sank deep into despair over her actions and the loss of her daughter. Her retreat from the world is probably what saved her from the Great Jedi Purge.

At one point she was imprisoned in the Kessel spice mines and met young Kyp Durron, whom she gave some elementary training in the Force. Eventually free of the Imperial shackles, she retreated to the dark lower levels of the Corellian Sector of the smuggler's moon Nar Shaddaa. Six years after the destruction of the second Death Star, Alliance hero Han Solo brought his wife, Leia Organa-Solo, to the moon and ended up in the lower levels fleeing from bounty hunters. The 200-year-old Vima could sense Leia's Jedi potential. She kissed Leia's feet, begged her forgiveness, and gave her a gift -- Vima's own ancient lightsaber.

Months later, Leia and Han returned to retreive Vima, who was on the run from Imperial Dark Side Elite, so she could help me learn Jedi training techniques for the Academy. When I was poisoned by the Dark Side Elite, Vima was there to save me with her Jedi healing powers.

After the final destruction of the Emperor, it was Leia's hope that Vima, who remembered the time when the Jedi were unequaled in strength and wisdom, would live to train her children in the ways of the Force. But during the victory celebration in the walled city of Iziz on Onderon, Vima mysteriously disappeared. None of the remaining Jedi were able to locate her, and it is not known if she is dead, or whether she found passage back to her old haunts on the spaceport moon of Nar Shaddaa. No matter which, I will always remember the odd old lady for the assistance she gave us in protecting Leia's children, the New Republic, and the legacy of the Jedi Knights.
