The daughter of Leia Organa-Solo and Han Solo, Jaina is the eldest twin by 5 minutes. Like her brother, Jacen, she is strong in the Force. She, too, has the dark hair and dark brown eyes of her mother and has shared most of Jacen's adventures.

Jaina takes after her father, though. From an early age, she was a mechanical whiz who was always dismantling droids and equipment, much like her younger brother, Anakin. Danger has always followed the Solo kids around. She and Jacen were hidden on Anoth after they were born, and shortly after they were brought back to Coruscant to live, Anoth was attacked by the Empire. At the age of 5, Jaina fell into some trouble on Coruscant with an illogical droid and a cache of bombs, and was saved at the last second by Chewbacca. At the age of 6, she and her brothers, as well as the Chironian girl Lusa, with whom Jaina quickly became friends, were kidnapped by Hethrir, the former Imperial Procurator of Justice, in an attempt to increase his Dark Side powers. By the time she was 9, she was helping her father repair the Millennium Falcon. She was also capable of cobbling together mechanical devices for just about any purpose, and like Han, her impulsiveness, spirit, and self-confidence sometimes got her into trouble.

When Jaina was 14 and a student at the Academy, she, Jacen, and their friends Lowbacca and Tenel Ka found an Imperial TIE fighter that had crashed in the jungle during the Battle of Yavin. They kept returning to the ship, and Jaina and Lowbacca not only repaired it but also added a hyperdrive unit her father had given her. Little did they realize that the pilot, Qorl, had survived and was hiding nearby. When Jaina's repairs were nearly finished, he captured the kids, and left them to die in the jungle as he took off. They were rescued, but Qorl escaped thanks to the new hyperdrive. His information led to the twins and Lowbacca being kidnapped several weeks later by the Second Imperium.

The three were taken to the Shadow Academy where attampts were made by my former student Brakiss to turn them to the Dark Side, but eventually they escaped. Later, when the cloaked Shadow Academy space station moved into orbit around Coruscant and began destroying or capturing New Republic ships, Jaina figured out how to disarm the cloaking mechanism, forcing the station to flee. During this time, Brakiss was training the twins' friend from Coruscant, the orphaned scavenger Zekk, to become his Darkest Knight. Telling Zekk lies about how his friends thought about him, Brakiss succeded in turning the boy. The Shadow Academy then launched a full out attack on Yavin IV, with Zekk leading an army of Dark Jedi against my own students. Zekk spared the life of Raynar Thul, and saved Jaina from entering the Great Temple, which was rigged with explosives. Jaina's faith in Zekk was what brought him back to the Light Side.

Jaina helped the group find Bornan Thul, Raynar's father. She also hepled thwart the schemes of the Diversity Alliance's leader, Nolaa Tarkona, who wanted to release a human- lethal virus into the galaxy. The kids became friends with Anja Gallandro on a visit to Ord Mantell with Han, and succeeded in putting an end to the civil war that was raging on Anja's homeworld of Anobis. They then stopped Anja's boss and new head of Black Sun, Czethros, from staging a coup across the galaxy. My wife, Mara Jade-Skywalker, took Jaina on as an apprentice shortly after.

Jaina is an extraordinary pilot, as were her father and maternal grandfather. She used her skills to help her brother launch a rescue attempt of Miko Reglia and Danni Quee from Helska IV. After she set a new record, beating out Kyp Durron, in the obstacle course known as "Running the Belt," set up by Lando Calrissian in Dubrillion's asteroid field, the Vong attacked the planet. Rogue Squadron helped defend it and lost many pilots. Jaina was formally asked to join the squad by Gavin Darklighter. Following some short negotiations with her mother, she excitedly accepted. She was assigned the Rogue 11 callsign and her wingmate was Anni Capston, a young Corellian girl who flew Rogue 12. Her squadmates gave her the nickname "Sticks," referring to the flight stick of her X-wing and her lightsaber. She flew a number of missions with the Rogues, including a cover assignment for the recon drop of Corran Horn, Ganner Rhysode, and Jacen on the planet Garqi, as well as the defense of Ithor. It was at Ithor that Anni Capston was shot down and killed. Jaina's parents, especially her mother, worry about her being with the Rogues but are starting to accept the fact that their daughter is growing up and following in their footsteps.

After spending some time off from Rogue Squadron due to a minor injury, Jaina was able to talk her way back onto active duty. I sent her to check up on Kyp Durron and tell him of the arrest warrant on me that Chief of State Borsk Fey'lya put out. Kyp showed her a weapon the Vong were growing in the remains of Sernpidal. With Jaina's help, Kyp managed to talk Wedge Antilles, Gavin Darklighter, and Traest Kre'fey into attacking Sernpidal. Kyp also asked Jaina to be his apprentice while Mara was indisposed, which she said she would think about. The assault went relatively smoothly, but then Jaina discovered that the "weapon" was actually a new worldship. Kyp knew what it was and tricked her into launching the attack. She was furious and walked away from Kyp's offer. SHe made it to the Errant Venture in time to see her new cousin, Ben Skywalker. Jaina returned to Rogue Squadron, though she was still angry about Kyp's deception.

When the time came for a strike team to destroy the voxyn queen, a deadly creature created by the Vong from the Force-hunting vornskrs of Myrkr, Jaina volunteered to go along. It was partly because of her military training and partly because both of her siblings were going, with Anakin leading the team. The team successfully infiltrated the Vong worldship, and eventually completed their mission. Jaina, however, was severely shaken. She watched as Anakin was killed and Jacen captured. I fear there may be major repercussions from her losses.
