Raynar is the son of Aryn Dro Thul and Bornan Thul of Alderaan, two very capable
business people. Raynar has lived a well-off life due to the prosperity of his parents'
trade fleet, Bornaryn Enterprises. When Raynar discovered that he had Force potential,
he came to the Jedi Academy to learn how to use it responsibly. At first Raynar was
considered by many to be a haughty, arrogant young man. However, I found that his
inquisitiveness was an admirable quality, though at times a bit rude. After his
humiliation at the hands of Zekk, at the time the
Shadow Academy's Darkest Knight, Raynar became a bit more subdued.
When Bornan Thul,
Raynar's father, dropped out of sight to escape the Diversity Alliance, Raynar was
forced to mature quickly. He helped his mother and uncle Tyko track down his father,
with the help of his friends Lowbacca,
Tenel Ka,
Jaina and Jacen Solo, and Zekk. Raynar became attached to the young Chironian girl Lusa, who managed to escape the Diversity Alliance's
brainwashing of hatred towards humans and ended up joining the Academy to develop her
Force-powers. Raynar was devastated by his father's death while trying to stop the
Diversity Alliance's leader, Nolaa Tarkona, from unleashing a devastating plague on
humanity.
He returned to the Academy, however, to continue his training. Raynar developed into an
upstanding Jedi Knight. After the killing of Lusa on her homeworld by a voxyn, he
bravely volunteered to go with the strike team to Myrkr to destroy the voxyn queen to
prevent further Jedi deaths. Once aboard the Worldship, the team encountered a captured
Nightsister and her male student. Later, the pair betrayed the team and stole their only
shuttle, taking an unconscious Raynar with them. His fate is still unknown.
