Zekk began his adventurous life as a orphan in the planet-wide streets of Coruscant.
Early on, he met up with Pekhum the spacer and the two became as close as father and
son. Zekk also made friends of the Solo twins, Jacen
and Jaina, during their frequent trips to
the somewhat-lower levels of Coruscant. Zekk was dark-haired, green-eyed, and full of
life. He made some extra money as a scavenger, showing an apparently in-born ability to
find scrape in the labrynthine depths. It was later discovered that Zekk had latent
Force potential by the new order of Nightsisters. The Nightsisters were working with
the Shadow Academy, a Dark Side training center run by my own former student, the Dark
Jedi Brakiss, which was in turn a project
funded by the so-called Second Imperium. Brakiss used all his Dark Side charisma and
half-truths to convince Zekk to willingly join the Shadow Academy and develop his Dark
Side powers. Zekk was given a lightsaber and underwent extremely dangerous training.
In his final rite of passage, Zekk had to confront his leading rival, a young man by the
name of Vilas. Zekk killed Vilas and became the Second Imperium's Darkest Knight. Zekk
lead several missions for the Shadow Academy, including an assault on a computer
manufacturing facility on Kashyyyk, and an all-out assault on the Jedi Academy on Yavin
IV. The Jedi trainees put their lessons to good use, and in the end defeated the Shadow
Academy. When his mentor, Brakiss, died in the explosion of the Shadow Academy
facility, Zekk had no where else to go. Very few have ever turned to the Dark Side and
managed to return, but thanks to the friendship of the Solo's and their companions, as
well as old Pekhum, Zekk was able to do so.
After the battle with the Shadow Academy
though, Zekk felt devastated by the terrible things he had done. He felt uncomfortable
with his Force powers, and so decide to become a bounty hunter rather than stay at the
Jedi Academy. His brief stint in the bounty hunting business was actually rather
fruitful, and also helped Raynar Thul track
down his father, Bornan. In the process, he managed to save the galaxy from a plague
that would wipe out all humans. It was during this time that Zekk began to tap into his
Force abilities more and more. When he finally felt he was able, he joined the Jedi
Academy to study with his friends. He built his own lightsaber and helped
Anja Gallandro kick her spice addiction, as well
as foiling the schemes of the rebuilt Black Sun crime syndicate. Zekk was lucky enough
to have people who loved him, which saved him from the Dark Side.
Zekk accompanied his friends Jaina, Jacen, Raynar,
Tenel Ka, and Lowbacca, as well as 11 other
Jedi on the strike team that destroyed the voxyn queen, the prime speciman from which all
of the other vicious Jedi-hunting creatures were cloned. When the team risked its mission
to save a Nightsister and her Dark Side apprentice from the Vong, Zekk vehemently opposed
taking them along. He was overruled by Anakin Solo
, but was proven correct when the pair stole their only means off the worldship, as
well as kidnapping, and possibly killing, Raynar Thul.
